INSTALLATION

We have been supplying and installing electronics on boats as Marine Electronic Installations Ltd (owner of this site) since 1992. Our staff are knowledgeable, conscientious and will always ensure that, even if the work is not completed on the same day, the work area is kept clean and tidy when we leave for the day.

We cover from Plymouth to Eastbourne on a day to day basis but can, and often do travel further including overseas to Europe and even Antigua! Please contact us with your requirements and we will be happy to offer assistance. Please note that you will incur additional travel expenses for destinations outside Plymouth to Eastbourne  on top of those quoted for installation labour and equipment but we only charge cost price for fuel/travel expenses and any accommodation, and a nominal charge for travelling time.

Although we are happy to do such installations, in the event only one smaller item is purchased and the boat is outside our normal area, it may well not be cost effective for you the customer, therefore we have a small network of trusted, competent installers in certain areas we would be happy to recommend for installations in these circumstances.

We also offer a trade-in service for old marine electronics against the cost of a new package, subject to terms and conditions. Give us a call to see how much you might save!

7. Explanation of 3DSecure credit card transactions

A Guide to 3D Secure (Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode)

What is 3D Secure?

3D Secure stands for ‘Three Domain Secure’ – the payment industry’s internet authentication standard. Visa have called their version ‘Verified by Visa’ or VBV for short and MasterCard have called their equivalent ‘MasterCard Secure Code’.

3D Secure can be thought of as an online version of ‘Chip and Pin’ technology, whereby the cardholder has a personalised password registered against their card that is then entered during the deposit process.

3D Secure authentication requires you, the cardholder, to register your card to take advantage of this service. This is a once off process (per card) which takes place on the card issuer’s website or at the point of deposit. You select a password which will then be used by your card issuer to authenticate each online transaction.

How does 3D Secure work with ELECTRONICSONBOARD Website?

Each time you attempt a transaction with ElectronicsOnboard, our banking system , managed by SecureTrading, will automatically check to see if your card is enrolled in the 3D Secure scheme.

If your bank is participating in this scheme, you will be taken to their secure website, where you enter your 3D Secure password, The payment is then taken as normal and you will then be smoothly delivered back to the banking confirmation page.

If your bank is participating in the 3D Secure scheme but you have not yet enrolled, by default, you will be offered the opportunity to register,  You can then sign up for 3D Secure and proceed with the transaction or decline to sign up and proceed with the transaction as normal.

ElectronicsOnboard  will attempt a 3D Secure check on each card transaction. If your bank is not currently participating in the 3D Secure scheme or you have declined to sign up to the scheme, the transaction will be processed without 3D Authentication. We will then make further checks, through SecureTrading, on your credit card and the information given before processing your purchase.
