AIS -Automatic Identification System- is a new international safety standard that will aid collision avoidance for all sizes of vessel.
With EchoPilot AIS vessels TRANSMITTING AIS data will show up, not just on the radar, but also on the chart plotter or PC running navigational software.
AIS signals can also be checked on the Internet when within range of a variety of receivers.
The EchoPilot AIS is a black box to plug into AIS enabled chart plotters which will then allow them to display vessels outputting an AIS signal.
